Γύροι της Τζαμάικας και οδηγοί γύρου

Αφήσαμε τη Φλώριδα και φθάσαμε εδώ σε Negril στις 11η Ιανουαρίου. Πήρε τις ημέρες ζευγών για με που παίρνω on-line και μερικά νέα pics που ταχυδρομήθηκαν αλλά θα είμαι ενδεχομένως πίσω για την Τζαμάικα και τις νεώτερες περιπέτειές μας πάλι.

Είναι τόσο συμπαθητικό να είναι πίσω στην Τζαμάικα και είμαι πολύ συγκινημένος για πόσο ευτυχή τα κατσίκια μας ήταν επάνω στο επιστροφής σπίτι μας. Και των γιων μου είναι απολύτως ευτυχής εδώ σε Negril και ανησύχησα πολύ που ένας μήνας πίσω στα κράτη θα βρώμιζε με τους αλλά αυτό επέλυσα για το καλύτερο. Στο τέλος συμπαθούν Negril και τη νέα θέση μας εδώ στο πεπρωμένο Devine περισσότερο από όλα τα δώρα χρόνου και grandma διακοπών των προηγούμενων λίγων εβδομάδων. Ήμουν εντυπωσιασμένου με τον παλαιότερο γιο μου ΕΝΑΝΤΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΠΑΡΕΜΒΟΛΉΣ ΠΑΡΑΣΊΤΩΝ ποιος είναι πολύ φωνητικός για «να πάει στο σπίτι» και ήμουν η πιό συγκινημένοη για τα ταξίδια σχεδίων μας και άφιξη στον κόλπο Montego.

Αυτό το ταξίδι δεν ήταν αρκετά τόσο ομαλό όσο είχα ελπίσει για και πρέπει ακόμα να ταξινομήσουμε κάποια μετα άφιξη προγραμματίζοντας έτσι μπορούμε να αποφύγουμε τα πράγματα όπως ένα κενό ψυγείο την Παρασκευή βράδυ και μερικά άλλα πράγματα. Ι το σπίτι αγελών και αυτό ήταν πιθανώς ένα λάθος για με να οδηγήσω τόσο σύντομα μετά από μια μακροχρόνια πτήση. Πήρα γυρισμένου γύρω σε Mobay και κρατημένου chit με το φίλο μας Kevin ενώ οδήγηση που χάθηκε σε μια θύελλα βροχής και χάσαμε περίπου δύο ώρες λόγω του. Μόλις φτάσαμε σε Negril και ανοίξαμε το σπίτι όλα ήταν irie και ο καθένας αισθάνθηκε καλύτερα. Ο καλύτερος προγραμματισμός θα αποφύγει αυτό στα μελλοντικά ταξίδια.

Φέραμε τα πίσω μέρη της ουσίας και είμαστε έτοιμοι για τα μέρη των δραστηριοτήτων που αυτό πηγαίνει γύρω. We have the van and now two bicycles plus a trailer we can haul the kids in which should allow us to travel just about anywhere in Jamaica by van or bike. Now we just need to get motivated on some more trips this time.

There is something about Jamaica that makes it very easy to spend lots of time doing much of nothing and taking long naps in the middle of the day has become the norm for us here in Negril. What should take me minutes to do may take me days to actually get around too here and I’m usually a bit slower on Jamaican time.

I do find myself spending more time observing nature and the beauty around us more so while I’m here. In just the past few days we’ve been here I have already seen and photographed so much Jamaican wildlife and tropical flora. I need a good book on identifying the numerous varieties of birds, butterflies and flowers around us. If not I’ll just have to name them all on my own and that will take too long.

I got my passport back in 1999 when I wanted to take my first trip to Jamaica. My wife Elise applied for one at the same time but was denied a passport because she has what is called a delayed birth certificate. She was born at home in 1980 and her parents did not take her to record her birth. My wife actually received her first birth certificate in 1997 when she was 17 and just prior to our marriage in 1998.

Her Florida Birth Certificate was issued with the word “delayed” stamped on it and this is the source of all our troubles. She has not needed a passport again until now and we reapplied just two weeks back for a new passport for me and AJ and a first time passport for Elise and Robby. The kids and I received our passports but Elise received a letter from the Miami Passport Agency stating that she is unable to prove her US Citizenship due to the delayed birth records. The letter lists multiple reasons why her application may have been denied and the only one that can apply to her is that her birth certificate does not indicate a registration or file date within one year of her birth.

We are now faced with tracking down members of her family so that they can fill out additional forms to attest to the fact she was born here in America as she says. Form DS-10 for the State Department is the Birth Affidavit she needs to have signed and notarized now. If you have a delayed birth record then get your paperwork sorted out early on so you’re not faced with these issues.

We plan to cover as much of the wonderful island of Jamaica as we can during our first extended trip with the goal of returning next year on a permanent visa. We’re going to catalog the adventure here for all to see. Lets see how it goes.
