Ok,so have finally made it to Jamaica. We’ve been here in Negril for two days now. Our trip over was an event to say the least. I’ve got plenty of advice on how not to travel to Jamaica for those that want to know. We stayed up late the night before finishing up things that should have already been done. We got a late start and our car was overpacked with my bicycle boxed and strapped to the rear for the four hour road trip. We did fine until we hit the air port. Our oldest son AJ was not excited about the plane trip and he was basically terrified at takeoff and landing. He seems to be very sensitive to the butterflies feeling in your stomach. We we’re stuckin the airport for about 2 hours as our plane was late as were others which caused more troubles. In the end we boarded on a different ramp much later than we thought. We arrived in Mobay and still had and hour of car travel to Negril on a very busy evening. It made for a long trip and a much longer than expected day.
Better preparations next time will save us much of this but anyhow we’re here. More updates on cab rides, bad kids and air conditioning soon come.

Hi, My name is Jane Cave. My husband and I love Jamaica, and the people of Jamaica. We have been looking and trying to find a place in Negril to rent on a long term basis. How did you find a place that is affordable? We don’t want to pay more than 400 or 500 a month. Do you stay in a resort or are you up in town somewhere? My husband looked at an apartment when he was there in May that was in an older house in town, they wanted like 300.00 for a month, it had a shared kitchen and we weren’t so keen on that idea. If you can give me any advise on making the move to Jamaica, I would love to hear from you. I forgot to give you our profile. I am almost 50 and Rick, my husband is 53. We live in Virginia. We are ready to give up our life and move to Jamaica.
